I've been trying to restream a stream from my home network to a remote server using nginx to a mobile carrier network for personal use.
Due to that mobile carrier network's data cap limitations, I'm looking to lower the audio quality beyond 64kbps. I've downloaded an old version of OBS which still has 32 kbps as an option, and the audio quality is more than fine on my mobile.
I know this isn't a common thing people use OBS for, but I was wondering if there is any way I can lower this even further until I find the audio is in inaudible? I've tried changing the values in the INI file, but the stream keeps the minimum of 64/32.
I tried using flash media live encoder to stream to nginx, which has the option to go even lower than 10kbps, but that doesn't seem to work. Eventhough the encoder says it's connected, no upload is monitored on my network, nor does vlc play anything from the server.
I like OBS way better anyway, so I was wondering if I can force similar settings in it.
