Hi, love OBS so far, awesome job guys!
I was wondering is it possible (if yes how?) to set up broadcaster to stream directly to other pc, without bothering any streaming servers.
What I mean is, you just open some video player on the other pc (like vlc or mpc) and type IP (and port) of the streaming computer and it works ;)

edit:
I have been thinking about it and I figured out I would probably need set up some streaming server on localhost and send there OBS output. So now my question is, is there some compatible (and preferably free and easy to use ;) ) software I could use for this?

No, there aren't easy to use and free stream servers, unfortunately. All of the ones I've seen require a decent amount of time to setup and a good understanding to use correctly, including Adobe Media Server (which isn't free).

Even after you get the media server setup there aren't really any good players for directly accessing and playing RTMP streams. VLC doesn't do it correctly and it's broken. I've gotten SMplayer to work with limited success, but it crashes a lot. About the best way I've found to play a RTMP stream is to use Xsplit and use it as a source, but of course that's not even a player anymore.

It's kinda sad that this sorta thing isn't easy to do in this day and age. You should really just be able to see a stream from any other computer on a LAN and play it, like WMP server functionality.

Have you tried mpc-hc?
and yes it would be nice to have some straight-forward solution for this
in the past I used skype for similar function but the screen sharing functionality is no longer available for free :/
I know there are other programs that can do that, but I was hoping I could use OBS for this because I like being able to set up all the encoding options and stream parameters.

SMPlayer is a gui over the top of MPC with some tweaking. MPC-HC doesn't work at all last I tried it.

I've done what you're talking about with VLC as capture and transmission, but it's VERY inefficient and gobbles your CPU.
