Question / Help Is it my GPU?

So I am having issues with my videos having quite a bit of encoding lag since I switched to the NVENC (new) encoder. I tried using Display Capture and also Game capture, with Game Capture producing more encoding lag than Display Capture. I also tried decreasing the framerates to capture from 60 to 30 with only a little less encoding lag. I have my task manager open while recording to check the status of the GPU and CPU. My CPU is right under 50% usage while my GPU is at 98-99% for 3D and 18% for the video encode. So I know at least on the video encoding section, I am NOT overloading my GPU. I get no notifications in OBS that anything is wrong other than the stats bar telling me about the encoding lag. I don't have any issues with rendering lag, only with encoding lag which makes no sense given the specs of my computer.

I was originally, before I started having some issues, using the x264 encoder with no issues other than the very few skipped and lagged frames due to rendering or encoding lag. I read on here that the NVENC encoder would produced higher quality videos with more efficiency and reduce the stress on my CPU.

After all this testing. I think I might have an issue with my GPU. Does anyone else think this could be my issue?

Okay, your other threads did not mention GPU utilization as high as 98-98%. You can't expect good performance from OBS allowing that to go consistently over 85-90%. I'd also suggest keeping your messages in a single thread if they are all related to the same issue (encoding lag in OBS on the same machine in the same configuration).

The above option uses GPU resources in a way that is additional to the "free" encoding that NVENC offers. You may want to try turning that off.

Sorry for all the different threads.

I didn't mention the GPU utilization because I didn't think to check it until just recently. Why do I have such high utilization on my GPU?

I'll try turning off the psycho mode. I didn't think anything of it because that's how it was by default before I messed with any of the settings.
