Question / Help Is 20 MBPS wifi while playing CSGO enough for atreaming?

Don't use wifi. Run a cable. 20mbps is enough, but wifi is VERY susceptible to interference and drops. It's NOT meant for constant minimum-throughput bandwidth applications like streaming.

Again. Run a cable. They're cheap, can be VERY long, and can be run along baseboards.

Post your OBS log, what is the actual problem ? I stream throguh Wi-Fi on my PS4 all the time, doesn't mean 100% that there is some issue. Upload speeds are minimal in terms of usage during stream so we might solve your issue.

Even the best wifi is prone to frame droppage and bursts.

For everyone who is trying to be against Wifi you have proof at Lirik, who is streaming for 30k people for couple years so far and he never dropped a single frame except when he was ddosed. He is against ethernet connection and he always use Wi-Fi. So yes, you are wrong. If you want to go further into debate this is not place for that. You are bumping thread for no reason when OP isn't even here anymore.

No. Speaking as a former network engineer, wifi is NOT designed for the kind of use that streaming places on it. It's meant for lightweight use by mobile devices, not as a replacement for network cables, especially not for high-demand applications.

Please stop giving flat-out bad information, dsr07mm.

I was clear, there is proof for couple streamers, former network engineer or not you are wrong because you are not 100% right. You might be over-active on this forum but you are talking facts from paper, not from test and practice. Simple as that. Over 20 times I caught you throwing "flat out bad info" on this forum but I didn't want to join conversation while on other threads with same questions I solved issue in one respond. So please don't go that way as that you are working in call center. It's annoying for most new members. I'm saying this to you as regular person who have experience with streaming and OBS on daily base and no engineer or ISP support can say something to do/check/change only because it's written somewhere and it's protocol.

Example:
User 1: My CSGO is having lag spikes, I have 5mbits upload, streaming at 2500bitrate.
You: Please provide log from OBS. Are you using wifi ? Twitch doesn't recommend over 2000 bitrate so I suggest not to go over 720p30fps 2000bitrate max.
Me: It's common for CSGO and other MP games to lag on 5mbits upload, check minimize network setting and you are good. If you need VODS for youtube, feel free to stream on 2500bitrate, 720p and 45fps because it feels smooth as 60, yet you don't get higher cpu usage.

You see difference here ? Every thread where you started with that approach users usually dissapeared and didn't want to ask for more solutions. So with that being said I recommend to act as regular user here except if they are paying you for "forum service".

So for @OP, yes it is enough. I stream on my console @ 2000bitrate through Wi-Fi at stable 4mbit upload at the moment, other big streamers or some of them are using Wi-Fi cards and they are streaming without issue. If you already have all that, just start OBS and try streaming or preview stream and you will quickly find out answer.

Bye.
