Question / Help iPad Audio cannot be changed??

I've been using OBS to capture game footage of my Xbox and Wii U via an Elgato Came Capture HD60. Everything works fine and I'm able to adjust both the Mic and Game Audio setting so that I can be heard at the same time via my Mic as well as game footage

My problems start when I output from my iPad to capture footage. I can still use the sliders in OBS to adjust my Mic and Game Audio, but it appears that only the Mic slider actually has any impact. The Game Audio is drowning out all my speech on the Mic. I try putting the slider down all the way to 0% (and have tried everything in between 0% and 100%) but the game audio just doesn't change when I play back at all (and the little equaliser line that shows the audio going through doesn't reduce at all. Please Help!! I can't be the only person that is having this problem.

A bit more background info, it's an iPad Air 2 and I'm using the Apple Lightening to HDMI adaptor. When this is output via the iPad the iPad goes into 'dock' mode which means you can't adjust the volume of the iPad as the iPad is expecting the output device to change it for you.

Also, I've tried using the Elgato capture software just out of interest (I prefer OBS as I have more capture options) and the Elgato software DOES let me adjust the volume of the game Audio, so I don't think there's any settings on my iPad I need to adjust.

It's driving me mad.....please help! I've used the OBS software for months with my consoles and it's always been faultless and I can configure the Game Audio perfectly, so why is it not working with the iPad?

Thanks in advance.

Any thoughts anyone? I can't be the only person who uses Elgato and iPad combo? Or have you ever had the Audio volume make no different to the recorded levels?
