IP Camera with microphone

Hi,

I am trying to setup an IP Camera under OBS.

The camera is an Android tablet running IP Webcam. I need to have video + audio (microphone) from that tablet camera.

I added a Browser Source as: http://192.168.8.2:8080/video

It works OK but “control audio via OBS” reveals no audio.

I added another browser source as: http://192.168.8.2:8080/audio.wav
It works with “control audio via OBS” but there is a tremendous audio delay of about 4seconds. I tried /audio.aac and /audio.opus but it seams much worse.

I added several 500ms Render Delay filters in the video. I can get audio/video synchronizations at the cost of humongous channel (audio+video) delay. It seems not to make much sense.

Looks like OBS does not support RTSP or ONVIF. Could they be a solution?

Should I try an alternative to IP Webcam?

I am running out of ‘solutions’… Could I have some help, please?

... looks like there are some references to VLC as a possible solution to this kind of problems but I am already using VLC with OBS in this project to playback some videos.

OBS does support RTSP streams as an input (assuming that is what your tablet is generating).

You need to add a 'Media Source' and untick 'Local File' and 'Restart playback when source becomes active' is best left unticked except if you need to get the stream started. Then for 'Input' you need something like:

rtsp://account:password@192.168.8.2:554

where 'account' and 'password' are whatever you used to secure your IP Camera and 192.168.8.2 is the IP address of your tablet etc. Port 554 would normally be the one for RTSP I believe.

Dear ProjectorMan

I adapted (IP Webcam suggestion) the URL to RTSP://ip:8080/h264_ulaw.sdp under 'Media Source' as you said and it works with about 4 seconds delay. It brings video+audio, so it is better than before. Still, 4 seconds is quite a lot. I tried /h264_pcm.sdp but it is much worse.

I was not aware of that "Local File" disabling to get access to a URL input.

Thank You
