Hi

Apologies if this has already been covered but I can't find an answer or solution anywhere!

I'm trying to use my iPhone as a camera in OBS on my imac. I have been able to get video successfully using a webcam as a video capture device but when I try to use my iPhone I just get a black screen. I have obs studio for iPhone installed on my phone and the iOS plug-in on my mac.

I open a new scene in OBS, select iOS capture in my source, plug in iPhone via USB, it says connected in iPhone with green light displayed but there is no camera, just a black screen on both the phone and oBS on my imac. It also says 0mbps on phone.

Any ideas what is going on or how to fix? Many thanks!!

Hey man, I’m pretty sure I have the solution. Is it possible that your IPhone has the Audio IC Chip broken? Like Mic not functioning etc? If so, I’m in contact with the programmer of the app and he invited me to the beta - he applied a hotfix for the beta and this totall fixed my issue with the blackscreen. Before starting the video output it checks both if camera and microphone is working without errors. He now changed it so that the video output will work even if the microphone fails tho.

Hey man, this is exactly my issue, I actually know that the audio IC on my phone is broken, but the camera should work perfectly if I can get around this. How could I get a copy of this beta please?

Yeah my camera is working perfectly, too, but as I mentioned OBS.camera app checks first if both video and mic are functioning and after the check it will give out Video signal. Well either you can contact him over the support section on the Homepage (that’s how i did it) and ask him for a beta invite (just explain you are in the same situation with broken audio
Ic) or you wait like a few days when they pull of this version as official (non-Beta).

To fix your iPhone black screen, you could try to force restart your iPhone first. If it doesn't help, then you could fix iPhone through professional ios system recovery software such as Joyoshare UltFix to resolve it without data loss. Or you can restore your iPhone via iTunes but you had better back data up before.
