Internet disconnects when streaming

Hi everyone!



I have a very interesting and recent problem with streaming.



When I start streaming (using OBS Studio) after a few minutes my OBS disconnects and my whole internet stops working. I cannot reach any sites, nothing. After a few minutes my connection fixes itself, but when I try to stream again this happens again. It was working fine for the past months as it should.

I used speedtest and did not see anything wrong in my internet speed, so I am unsure what is happening. I tried OBS built-in bandwitch testing while "streaming" a game but no problem occured. I contacted my ISP but they said they fixed the problem, but actually they did not.

Has this problem occured to anyone? Does anyone has any ideas of where should I seek fixes? My provider says nothing is wrong on their end.

I have attached the log file from yesterday's stream.

So I have tried something..I went on and did a bandwitch stream to Twitch. Everything was fine for 15 minutes when I decided to launch a game and try with that too. My internet instantly disconnected again.

Uh, not sure what you mean. If you mean you found a DNS Service on your computer, and its state is "Running' that actually tells you almost nothing, relative to what Tomasz was asking

For example, my home is Internet connected via Cox cable modem service. The Internet appeared to go out over a couple of months at apparent random intervals (over a months' time). The 'Internet' was up and running, however, when I checked DNS Resolution (ie, actually directly made DNS queries from command line), I didn't get responses... which to the average user makes Internet appear 'down'

So, there is a whole sequence for network troubleshooting, to find out what exactly isn't working, when a person not knowledgeable in networking, says 'Internet not working/down'. Could be modem connection itself, DHCP, DNS, bandwidth contention, or a number of other things ... it depends/varies
