Intermittent Video Loss with Cassette Adapter

Hi, I'm using OBS Studio an AV to HDMI Converter and a USB Video Capture Card to digitize my home movies. I started out with the VHS' I had, and didn't really have any issues. I've now switched to my compact video cassettes using a cassette adapter. What I'm experiencing is intermittent loss of video with each compact cassette I've tried, and when the video is lost, I do not lose audio at all. Tried the Adapter and VCR I'm using on a regular tv and there is no issue, the video runs perfectly. Any ideas what could be causing this video loss?

On your computer you might have several USB ports. For example, two different USB3.0 and 1 USB2.0. Insert your capture card into separate and not shared with anything else USB3.0 port.

Play around into which USB port you insert your USB Capture Card.

No dice, same issues with other USB ports. Could it be that some frames are just degraded, and it causes the capture card to lose signal, but with normal viewing on the TV, the picture might have degradation, but it still shows up on screen? Sorry I'm a noob at this.

Oh also, if I fast forward or rewind, there is no loss of video, the frames that aren't showing when I hit play are there.

That's not the log file. That is a copy of a fragment found on the log file.
Please provide the full log file attaching it in here or using the OBS built in upload feature for the log file and paste the URL here.

Just in case, check in Windows if your capture device is allowed to be captured (some kind of web-cam "private" protection of the OS).

Start removing the completelly unnecessary Norton. As long as you have a healthy behavior online you don't need any other security than the one provided by Microsoft itself.

Recording at CBR 3500 kbps result in a bad quality recording.
Do not use advanced output, go back to simple output.
You should use standard setting, including standard fps. Use 30 or 60 if your system allow you to.

The best thing you can do is run the Auto-configuration Wizard and apply the settings it gives. Do NOT change anything.
Restart OBS. Yes, do restart OBS.
Now test as is. One test of no less than 30 seconds doing everything you normally do.
If everything goes well, you're done. Happy recordings.
If not, please post the log file from this test in here.

I tried the Auto-Configuration Wizard, restarted OBS. Got similar results.

What do you see in the properties of the "Video Capture Device" source of OBS? Are there pictures or it just has black screen preview?

I see the blue screen of the VCR, or images from the VCR. Like I said, everything is working I'm seeing the video, but it keeps flashing from the video to blue screen, video to blue screen, meanwhile the audio is coming through fine, and if I'm trying the VCR with Cassette Adapter on my regular TV I get no loss in video. This set-up, video capture device and OBS worked fine when I was digitizing just the regular tapes on this VCR. So trying to figure out why I get the loss in video.

Just to update, it was either the converter or the video capture, didn't like whatever signal was coming from the cassette adapter. Bought a video capture that was straight component, and it's working no problem.
