Question / Help Interesting issue with foot switch to change scenes(Hotkey)

It's a foot switch that will input keyboard commands. The software let's you customize specific keyboard commands it will send. Even let's you add ALT, Ctrl, or Shift. My thought was to use this to change scenes when my hands were in use (normally doing something silly on stream and wanted to change webcams) but ran into an issue.

I can configure the software to do the correct keyboard command. I can also have that show up when inputting it as a keyboard "hotkey" for the scene(using my foot and the hardware switch not just a keyboard). However once that is done and I hit enter OBS doesn't see the input anymore. When I go back to adjust the hotkey, clear it, and use my foot petal it will input still there, but never works outside of that.

I did run OBS in administrator mode to see if that might be it, but no dice. Also tried different keyboard inputs. None of them worked. Alt + 1, Ctrl +1, even just "1" or "A". Nothing worked, but it would always show up in the hotkey configuration window.

I'm not sure if there is any way for you to know what might cause this but I figured I'd ask. It's not a huge issue, but if it doesn't work I wasted 30 bucks :P

I am also having this same issue when trying to use a device to switch between scenes. I am trying to use my Steinberg CDC-PD controller to send key combos to do the switching. This is something that I have had working in the past when using OBS but I am now seeing the same issues as NikonPunch.

I'm able to make this work with Chrome (not tabbed out) to change tabs. OBS still does not work. Just curious if anyone has any ideas why. It might be that OBS doesn't see more than one keyboard at a time? It inputs the shortcut via the switch but doesn't actually switch scenes once I accept the hotkey change.
