I have have followed this guide here for the settings to use for local recording...

but his guide was written up before Intel Quick Sync was more widely available. I have used the above suggestions with crf=18 but the capture videos are an awful quality. Is there a setting that needs to be altered when Intel Quick Sync is being used?
