Intel Macbook Camera no longer working after latest OBS installation

I am using one of the last intel macbook pros running Sonoma 14.5. After I updated to the latest version of OBS 30.1.2 my macbook camera has disappeared and any application that wants to access the camera just sees the OBS virtual camera as an option independent of whether OBS is running. I tried uninstalling OBS, I tried going back to a previous version but it appears like the OBS virtual camera has just usurped the macbook camera. I went into Apple and was able to confirm that there are no hardware issues with my macbook. If I create a new user account I still have the same problem. I cant get rid of the OBS virtual camera and my macbook camera nolonger appears to exist for any software, i.e photobooth facetime etc etc. Any input greatly appreciated kindest regards and God Bless Pastor Paul

There have been numerous recent threads about a change in the MacOS Operating System default behaviors, especially around Operating System permissions related to microphones and cameras (an unfortunately needed change with prevalence of cyber crime)

Have you checked the Operating System (Sonoma) security settings for permissions for the webcam? make sure OBS Studio is granted access

Yes I did that Lawrence the camera is available for Brave, Google, I Glasses, OBS, Skype, Zoom, VMWare Fusion etc etc but none of these programs can see the camera they can all however see the OBS virtual camera even though OBS is not on and no virtual camera is being used. OBS Virtual camera has become the default and appears to have replaced my macbook webcam , it also wont work if I plug in a webcam by USB as I have a higher res webcam I use for livecasting. The only way i can get any video input into my macbook pro now is with my Iphone 14 pro which works under the new system as a continuity camera.
