Installing a Previous Release

I'd like to revert temporarily to a previous release of OBS, specifically 26.0.2 which was the last release which worked (for me). The current release 26.1.0 is creating a blackscreen and I did post a question in the forum about this (with log).

In the interim I'd like to get back to 26.0.2.

I'm not new to Linux but my skills with using make/build are close to non-existant. I've done it a few times but I have zero muscle memory for it.

If anyone can point me to a guide that walks through the make/build and installing OBS from the github source I'd appreciate that.

Ok, I simply used Synaptic Package manager to force the version to 25.0.3 (the only other version available via Synaptic) and now I can record again.
