Input vs Canvas vs output

I'm streaming at 720p.
The OBS computer has a BMD Decklink 4K getting a 4K feed from a Panasonic camera.
I have several scene. The default captures the entire frame from the camera. The others are grabbing portions of that frame. What is the best setting for the canvas to have the best quality on the stream for those zoomed images?

If it was me, I'd use a 720p canvas. At that point you're sending 'native' video and not dealing with multiple rescales and the quality loss those can incur. For 'zoomed in' portions of the 4K source, just include the 4K source and hold ALT to crop it down just to the part you want to show for that scene; at that point the 4K input stays 1:1 native size as well for as long as possible, meaning maximum quality on the stream.

Make sure you right-click the source though and select a Scale Filtering option if you are going to scale it down to show the whole 4K input on one 720p scene, so it will avoid the pixelation that the default 'none' generally imposes.
