That is expected behavior. You're capturing your monitor, and OBS is on your monitor, so you're capturing your preview window, which is showing your monitor, which is showing OBS, which is showing your monitor...

There's nothing unusual about this. Is there a reason you need it gone? Because there's not really a way to make it go away unless you move OBS off the monitor that's being captured.

Actually, I just needed to be able to record a corrupted mp4 I had on my external drive that I couldn't copy over to my hard drive. The video will play but it won't copy over to any other storage device. So I just wanted to be able to play it and record it with a program. This works just fine now.

However, is there a way to record only the audio that is coming from the computer? Because OBS is recording my mouse clicking and other external sounds from outside the computer.

And how do I record gameplay? I have OBS set up like this. I'm not sure what to do for Application.

Just make sure you're not recording a mic, then you won't hear your mouse clicks or other things.

As for gameplay recording, the game has to be running first before you can select it in Applications.
