In Over My Head I Think

I purchased a refurbished VCR package for the purpose of digitizing VHS content. I can see that the tape quality is deteriorating and we want to save certain content to a computer. With the VCR came an AV to HDMI Adapter Setup, AV to USB Capture Instructions and a small package of RCA to USB connection. Obviously I downloaded OBS Studio. Now for the roadblock. The potential usage of the software seems almost endless but for now I just want to transfer video content to a computer. Are there such instructions without having to wade through procedures that I am not likely to use initially? Many thanks in advance for any help/instruction and take it easy on an OldFatDog!

To import video from VCR, you need a capture device that inputs the analog VCR signal and outputs USB. If you use OBS, you add a source called "video capture device" to read that USB device.

You don't need a AV to HDMI adapter. This is meant to connect a hdmi monitor to the VCR, so you can see the video on a digital monitor.
