I just bought a new pc and decided I would start streaming the games I play. I've had many streaming problems already revolving around lag; I've had low frames for example. I feel like I've made progress but I can't figure out how to fix my stream 100%.
Currently the problem lies, when I stream I notice the gameplay to be very choppy/laggy and its not uncommon for the stream to freeze. When I dont stream everything plays smoothly. Any advice on how to fix this issue would be awesome. I'm also open to using teamviewer with someone if they think it would be easier to have access to my situation.
PC Specs - MSI Aegis X
Intel i7 67000k quad core DDR4 memory
GTX 1080
32GB DDR4 Ram
I run 4 Monitors; 3 at 60hz and the one I play games on at 144hz
My internet speeds are 125mbps down and 10 up
My OBS output setting for streaming are:
encoder x264
Rate control CBR
Bitrate 2500 (brought down from 3500)
keyframe intervals 2
CPU usage veryfast
profile main
tune none
Base resolution 1920 x 1080
output resolution 1920 x 1080
downscale filter lanczos
common fps values 60
Things I have tried/noticed:
When I am playing and streaming at the same time my cpu usage stays between 50-70%
My ram and swap usage stays between 40-50%
Reducing video quality from ultra to medium (didnt notice a difference)
Closing other unimportant applications when playing (browsers, etc)
The stream quality gets better if the game capture doesnt take up the whole scene
I'm confused because me and my friend stream together and ive tried using it settings and the same issues arise. We have very similar internet speeds but my pc is noticeably better. I've gotten his help to try to figure it out and I've searched many websites and watched many youtube videos. I've tried many variations of settings a nothing has seemed to work. I had the same problem on my old pc. It was a lot worse on the other pc but this one still has the same problem.
Once again thanks in advance for any help
Included is the log of my last stream where I noticed these issues. Note there was sufficient down time during the stream because I was streaming while creating this thread. But there was also sufficient time during the stream where I was playing and experiencing these issues.
