Install the latest Realtek HD audio drivers from
http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads...=24&Level=4&Conn=3&DownTypeID=3&GetDown=false

Check that the audio format in Windows is set to something reasonable, e.g. 16- or 24-bit and 44.1 or 48 kHz.
