Question / Help Improve quality and streaming console gaming

Hello,

I've been watching streams on twitch for a long time and got inspired to start out myself.
I plan on streaming console gaming but because I haven't bought a capture card yet (due to recommendations I probably will go for AVerMedia: Live Gamer HD (C985)) so I'm mainly trying out my streaming capabilities with my pc.

PC info:

- OS: Win 7 32bit
- CPU: Intel E8400 3.0Ghz (3.4Ghz)
- GPU: GeForce GTX 550 ti
- RAM: 4gb (3.25 used)

Internet:

- Download: 14.x mb/s
- Upload: 0.9x mb/s

Settings:

- Quality: 10
- max Bitrate: 800
- buffer: 1600 (I've read twice my bitrate but don't feel like there is any difference when using 800)
- Custom Resoltion: 1280x720 (downscaling by 1.50 (I can't remember what resolution that was)
- preset: veryfast

The game I'm trying out to test my limits is The Witcher 2. So far the settings I use for now are the ones with the best result. The stream is getting somewhat blurry though on movement and I'd love to reduce that as much as possible.

What I want to know most is, can I use the same settings when streaming console games via a capture card? What settings can I improve, and how, with my current pc for console streaming?

For streaming from Pc in the meantime, which settings are the most important to reduce that blurry effect? I'd like to get a solid setup before getting a capture card so I have that off my mind.

Thanks in Advance.

With that kind of upload speed you won't have an impressive picture quality no matter what you do.

I recommend downscaling to no higher than 480p and lowering frame rate to 25fps. If your computer can run the "faster" or even the "fast" preset without choking, then you can give that a shot. Also, enable CBR if you're going to stream at a bit rate so close to your upload speed.

You can keep your buffer the same as your max rate.
