Import/export doesn't work

I am new to OBS. I want to stream two different worship services each sunday. They are very different - one being contemporary and the other being traditional. I try to prepare at home. When I try to export scenes in Profiles it asks for a folder. It puts two .json files in the selected folder. When I select Import OBS asks what files to import so I select the two files shown in the export step. But nothing happens. Nothing comes in. I have lost all I did and being new it takes me a long while to rebuild. What steps am I missing? Thanks for your help.

I haven't tried it on the destination computer yet. Just tried it on my main computer at home to see if it works. Export then clear the scenes and sources and try to import. No scenes or sources created. So I must be missing a step.

@Harold, correct me if I'm wrong. I point out the following just in case LarryH (or anyone else that comes across this thread) not aware/ thinking of the following.
The Export/Import will contain the Scene 'settings', but NOT the scene source files, right? that is, if the scenes sources point to pre-recorded audio or videos (as is my case, and those change each week), those files aren't part of the Scene settings
If you are using Media Source files or similar, your settings will point, including full pathname to those files, so you'd want to use a common folder path to source files... Beware default Windows Username is part of \Documents path so is often different on different PCs. As I generally don't support adding folders to Root of C:\ [from experiences decades ago, and where I partitioned systems so only OS & Apps on C:\, data on D:\ and being comfortable with that, and have corresponding backup practices, I've simply stuck to it.], on church's latest Win10 system for OBS, I put our Livestream content in C:\Users\Public\Documents\LiveStream as that \Documents folder does exist on most every Win10 (and Win7/8) PC so makes portability easier. But whatever common folder structure works for you is probably fine (avoiding OS System folders obviously)

That's correct, exporting only exports the scenes and related metadata (source positions, settings, etc). If the sources reference files on disk, those need to be in the same location for an import to work correctly. There is some work on making a "missing files" wizard to help fix instances where sources have been moved.

I have tried several times and still NOT getting any scenes or sources created. What am I not doing right?
