Trying to learn to use this software. The more I read the more aspirin I need. Heh heh. I just want to record some game footage on a single computer. Specifically the game I'm trying to record is Minecraft. I want to make a video of stuff I'm doing in the game so I can later edit it and upload it to YouTube.

I can't even figure out how to do this. To start I wish there was a "Recording" button. Streaming can mean so many things it confuses me. Anyway I put Game Capture in the box. Point it to the Minecraft Launcher. Set my output folder. Start streaming and the only thing it records is the launcher even when the game starts. Won't record the game itself. I also tried Monitor Capture. That I assume is supposed to record anything that is showing on the screen. It does record what's on the screen up to the point of actually getting into the game. Then is just shows a black screen. Any help here for my really dumb ass will greatly appreciated.

Game capture won't work on the Minecraft Launcher. You have to be in-game first before you can try to capture it.

Follow this guide for local recording: viewtopic.php?f=18&t=2972

If, in your Broadcasting settings, you have "File Output Only" mode selected, then just press Start Streaming to record.
