Question / Help Im having a little trouble with HD PVR 2. (Pic inside)

The first image shows the problem I am having with it. I tried adding the source as the Hauppauge Capture window and everything shows up but the part I want. It just shows up black on the preview window.

I also cant get anything to work as Video Capture Device or Game Capture.

Any idea what I can do to fix this?

I tried searching about this and have found a lot about the PVR 2 not being compatible with OBS. However, he got it to work in this video:

the way he does it there is monitor capture, which is what you would want to do. you run the hauppauge software as big as you can on your monitor, and then capture that part with monitor capture. make sure to use sub-regions, so you can crop what you dont need (the rest of your desktop, and the non video part of the hauppauge software)

I just watched it again to make sure and he is clicking "Window Capture" and not "Monitor Capture."

Sorry if I am missing something.

Also, with monitor capture, wont that only stream video, but not audio?

you will still get the audio with monitor capture. also, its been a while since ive watched that vid, so he may infact have used window capture, however I dont recommend it for what your trying to do. window capture hooks into the programs process, where monitor capture just records everything thats there. doing monitor capture will reduce your chances of getting black screens. etc. because your not hooking into a process at this point.

Ok. That makes sense. I was using monitor capture while streaming yesterday and I was not getting sound. Maybe I am doing something wrong.
