Could anyone please help me figure out how I can get my stream quality to not lag to the moon and back. My game runs fine in the record mode of OBS but lord behold I try to use the stream mode. I've messed around with multiple settings and test runs and I just can't find nothing to 1. get rid of the high encoding cpu thing and 2. make my stream worthy of watching.

I'm on a low end laptop so please don't try to give me help for high gaming pcs, Even if the view quality of the stream isn't HD I just want it to run smoothly.

Processor: Intel(R) Pentium(R) CPU B960 @ 2.20GHz
Installed Memory: 4 GB
64-bit Operating System, x64 based Processor.
Intel HD Graphics
500 GB HDD

**Log File from last stream test**

You cant use that system with obs, there is no way to get any form of decent quality. Your system is too slow.

Then please do explain to me exactly how recording comes out perfect? I believe my system has a chance and I won't be told no for an answer.

tbh the only answer is buy a new computer. Low end computers are not made to stream they are made to surf the web and check emails. Your lagging because your using too much CPU power + you dont have enough ram to play a game and stream through obs. No way around it

Well i cannot afford a new computer. So glad you tell that to everyone who cannot afford to spend thousands or hundreds on a fancy gaming pc. The game im trying to stream is a low end game as it is

Allie, if you are able to add more RAM to your computer that may help with your problem. You should check online to see if your model of laptop is able to have RAM added to it or if you can replace your current RAM with a larger size module. I am not guaranteeing that this will fix your problem, but it may help. 4GB of RAM is about just enough to run your operating system and the game you are playing at the same time. Your processor is also an older model which is also does not help. I agree with the other two responders overall though, it may be best to just upgrade to a better computer if you really want to stream. Playing a game, running OBS, and outputting a stream all at the same time is a very taxing process.

I dont think I would be able to add more ram, probably pretty much screwed unless I could find someone who would be willing to do a trade. I will look it up but I'm not sure what I am looking for so if you could help me out a bit its a gateway model NE56R41u. It's a few years old so thats probably why the processor is old, doubt that could be change could it?

So it looks like your particular model may support additional RAM. But again, that may not fully solve your problem, it will probably only ease it. Because of the CPU that your computer is using, I personally believe that it is where your biggest problem lies. And unfortunately, laptop CPU's can very rarely be changed as they are usually soldered directly onto the board or are sitting in some sort of custom built slot. If you want to continue to stream without issues like this, you will probably have to get a new PC. I would recommend something with at least 8GB of RAM and at least a recent i-series Intel CPU (i3, i5, i7), not a Pentium like you have now. I also attached a picture showing the tech specs for your computer's RAM.

you dont need alot of money to build a pc that can stream. You can build a pc that can stream for under 600 dollars

For those you who said my computer couldn't handle it. Here's an update after searching through google. my stream is viewable the picture moves, I can play music and have my webcam on during the stream. There is a few lag spots but that usually lasts a few seconds. My game doesn't lag out like before, and usually all that happened AFTER watching the playback video trying to configure settings. SO HA!
