As noted previously
1. your computer is a bit old for doing real-time video compositing/encoding ... doable _maybe_ with a LOT of finesse and technical expertise... or a lot of expert assistance...
first in optimizing at operating system level to reduce background workload
then, picking specific OBS Studio settings to go with your specific hardware and available resources.. there is no simple/easy answer for this.
General PC support (like Best Buy Geek Squad) would NOT be something I'd count on being able to help with this... you could get lucky, and get a tech who actually knows computers and streaming, ... but that will be the exception
so no idea what 'support sessions' you are referring to, but if general online computer support... yea, not surprised they weren't of much help in this circumstance
I got very frustrated when I started... and I really know my way around a computer. And all of us here are volunteers/fellow users, not paid OBS Studio support staff. As such, it is common for many of us to be more technical, a generality is that such 'geeks' often don't have the emotional intelligence to put up with attitude or others frustration... Between that and people being lazy and not searching first, would possibly explain why many posts are left unanswered or slowly answered
If videos aren't your thing (they aren't my educational tool of choice), and for non-gaming, maybe these free eBooks/resource swill help

I've been an IT professional for decades (focused on computers, networking etc vs enterprise applications and data)... and it still took me months to get up to speed (at my comfort level, which was probably way more than typical user would target) on OBS Studio... and I had a really good underlying understanding of CPU, GPU, RAM, Disk I/O etc..
The joy of Free, Open Source software is that is it free. the downside, is there isn't the support, documentation, etc that tends to be afforded by 'for pay' software.
