Question / Help i7 4790k and 100% CPU/GPU Usage

It sounds odd but make sure your ram is running at its rated speed and maybe check to see if you have room to overclock.

these are one of the few cases where RAM "might" help with OBS, or it might just help the game. Again, if your temps are good you could overclock and the obvious would be to get a dedicated (DX11 minimum) GPU. OBS does tend to use the GPU but usually the most GPUs are powerful enough not to notice.
'Might help the game'? I use a two PC setup remember. Not sure if I followed you correctly there.

I've overclocked to 4.6ghz and whilst it did have some affect, it still wasn't too great a difference. I'll be picking up a GPU as soon as I can. (Dang this is getting expensive!)

Oh yes, I forgot. I would just get a cheap R7 260 or something.

Yea, OBS will composite the image and do scaling on the GPU, so any medium-low range GPU, like a R7-260(Which I personally used for a while) will be good and reduce CPU load. I know OBS can use the integrated GPU but it is pretty bad.

After my trip to Pax Prime I've bought a GTX 960 for my streaming PC. After the 7/8th of September I should be able to test the capture card once more with the addition of a GPU. I'll post updates around then!
