Question / Help i5 4670K my settings. I have question about quality.

Hi!

My PC setup is:
CPU: i54670K (not OC yet)
GPU: GTX660 (oc version)
RAM: 8GB Ballistix
Motherboard: MSI Z87-G43
Internet connection (upload): 3Mb/s - 5Mb/s Yeah it's not constant. Once I had 8Mb/s eh ... :/

My stream set up:
Encoding: x264, CBR selected, Quality 8, bitrate 2200, CBR selected
Video: custom 1280x720 (my monitor is 1440x900), downscale none, FPS 30
Advanced: Multithread opt selected, priority class: normal, scene buffer time 700 ms,
x264 cpu preset veryfast, encoding profile main, keyframe 2, use CFR selected
Microphone Noise Gate: selected

Yesterday I was streaming and testing my settings. Can you tell me what you think about quallity? Is it good enough? Can I improve quallity but not load CPU much more? Here you got my testing stream -> http://www.twitch.tv/xowisixii/b/603448575

Quality is fine for those settings, but it seems you are stretching the image, because it looks a bit distorted.

Yeah I'm stretching the image. My monitor is 16:10 and most ppl have 16:9. So I decided do stream in 16:9 but to do this I need to stretch screen. Would you recommend me to stream in 16:10 simillar resolution to 1280x720 which is 16:9?

The best way, is to set your base resolution to 1440x900 and don't do any downscaling, your cpu can easily handle this resolution and you can even try setting the cpu preset to faster (i think, it's the one below veryfast) to improve the quality a bit. People will see small black bars on the sides though if they have the twitch player in a 16:9 aspect ratio.

I'm assuming you run the game at 1440x900 too.

I guess I will not touch cpu preset and it's because of that when I play (not streaming) cs:go I have ~250-300fps. When I stream cs:go I have 150-170fps.

I think I will change resolution and check it, will it lagging me or not. And how much fps I will have in Fifa and cs:go while I will streaming. Tell me which software will me show fps and do not crash or make other problems in OBS?

usually higher bitrate along with CPU preset will give you a better picture for your viewers, but you may lose some as well if their internet is bad. So, i would just leave it or maybe increase it a little and test.

Now I'm wondering about this x264 profile. Is it a big diffrence for CPU about very fast and faster? I know that faster loud much more CPU than very fast the diffrence is big or maybe I will not see the diffrence while I'm streaming but my viewers will see diffrence on the stream?

You and your viewers, but your viewers will notice more of a difference with a bitrate change, because you're uploading more resolution to the stream. And if you can push faster, and upload at a decent bitrate, your stream will be better. But it all depends also on their connection and if you're a partner with twitch or not, because then you can upload more bitrate and if they can't see it because of their internet, twitch will downscale it.

If you're not a partner, you don't want to take your bitrate higher than 3500, but even that's too high for a lot of people that don't have great internet, your stream will look awesome if you can push it, but you will lose viewers. Not being a partner means, your viewers are dependent on your bitrate settings. So, if you set it too high, they may buffer over and over. If you were a partner, then their viewing is dependent on their speed and you can set your bitrate to 6000 if you have that upload speed.

Thanks dude! I guess, now I understand everything! So I will leave my settings as they are now. I'm not twitch partner so there is no point try to make stream as good as it can be because as you said some viewers may have problem to watch it.
