I use both Muxy and Streamelements for my obs, can they work together?

So i used muxy for my alerts and I used streamelements for my sub goal bar and tip goal bar, do the bars still update even though the alert that pops on screen is from muxy? When i try to emulate a follow/sub/tip on muxy it doesn't affect the bar i got on streamelements. Is it normal for that to happen?
