I have been using OBS and it has went perfectly. I was changing my studio around and wanted to start over. At that point, the attached screen shot is all I get. Yes, I have uninstalled and reinstalled to no avail. Please, do not ask for log file because one does not exist, OBS will NOT open. I even went as far as to back my hard drive up and do a complete reinstall. Still nothing.

I cannot be the only one with this issue.........

Sir: I appreciate your candor.

I got directly in touch with OBS last week Sunday (11/29/20). I can provide the string of e-mails if needed. All I got from them is to send a log file. Pretty funny when the program will not even load to get to a log file. I sent the person screen shots where he replied that "he could not help me".

So with your rhetoric about "4 hours", I can assure you it was longer than that.
Next, I missed the part of the forum where it stated money was a prerequisite.

Moving On.......
I am quite aware that OBS is a free software.
I donated money up front when I downloaded the program.
And, I understand that nothing occurs for free.
So ANYONE (including you) that fixes it, I will be more than happy to oblige with a cash payment.

Now - what have I done........
1. Deleted everything (7 times total now)
2. I have went into ~/library/application support and deleted the files there. Reopened and the same message.
3. I have even downloaded an old(er) version of OBS. Nothing.

I have completely uninstalled and reinstalled a total now of (8) times.

Not sure that it matters, but this machine is an i7, 16mb and runs macOS High Sierra 10.13.6

I am very frustrated and just need help. NOTHING in life is free, I donated money for the software and I will be MORE than willing to compensate anyone who fixes this.

THANKS!!!

Directly in touch with ... OBS? I'm not sure what that means. It's a worldwide open-source project, with at least 100 contributors. You emailed Jim?

Sounds like you've done everything I know to suggest in the dark. You rolled back to an earlier version? Deleted whatever extensions and plug-ins and helper apps there were? Without some information as to what changed between working and not working, I got nothin'. Sorry.

Do have the last log file from when it *did* run?

Gave money here: https://obsproject.com/contribute
The email string started here: Sent via form submission from OBS.Live | Open Broadcaster Software
Streaming Knowledge Base <https://www.obs.live>
The person whom responded was: Nethyr

To whom Jim is, I have not had the privilege to meet him.

Unfortunately I do not have access to any logs. I never thought to get a log when everything was working properly. My mistake.

I changed my studio around as I was going from 4X Logitech C920 Pro's to 7. I added a new Mackie 24 channel board. Thus, I went into my saved files and took all my presets away - I deleted them. UGH!!! My thought was I going to add all new scenes and re-enter the new sources.

When I went to open OBS, the error code appeared. Obviously when you go from a perfect system to FUBAR, it was something that "I" did per se`. Instantly I uninstalled and reinstalled.

And here I am.......

In my feeble opinion, I have a left over file somewhere on my machine. And OBS tries to open, it sees that file first. But if I knew that for sure, I would not be here.

I appreciate your help.

If you have a system backup, logs are created every session.

Left over file sounds right to me. A system level guru I am not, though.
