I LOST MY RECORDING

After finishing recording a 1-hour video with OBS, I paused it and then attempted to stop the recording. However, the program got stuck on “Stopping Recording…” I decided to leave it that way for a few hours. When I checked again, it seemed like it had finally stopped the recording and was ready to save it. However, when I looked in the folder where videos are saved, I couldn’t find the recording. There’s only a tiny 2KB MP4 file. Does anyone know what happened, and is there any way to recover the video? It’s important to me.

recover- high unlikely
see the big warning in OBS Studio about NOT recording to MP4 file format... that's why
though in your case, probably never really was recording in first place
not always, but your description is common with an overloaded computer
- now, whether that was somethign else causing issue at Operating System level, wrong OBS Studio settings or at least demanded too much compared to what your computer could perform ... can't tell
