I have done 1 successful stream for a few hours and then never worked again. I run OBS as admin and make it a high priority in task manager, nothing running in background, wired connection, don't share a connection with anyone nothing else using bandwidth. Made exception in windows firewall for OBS and steam and the game. Xfinity internet. New Router Wi-Fi combo Surfboard SBG10. Only tried twitch at this point.
Speed test and twitch test (no game running) and game settings. game is called Valheim.

Restart OBS and perform a test stream/recording of no less than 30 seconds doing as you normally do, including playing games, full camera or whatever you normally do.
Look in Help menu. Upload the current log file and paste the url to the log in here. Click on the Analize button to start troubleshooting common issues.

Instead of using "Auto" for the Twitch server selection, try picking one from TwitchTest that gives good results. Sometimes "Auto" can route to the wrong region.

thank you both. no one ever says anything about analyzing the log very helpful as HAGS was causing a problem. unfortunately still not working
new test 5 min this time. should i be testing with the game running?
Screenshot 2022-05-20 090127.jpg

Went with LA. OBS settings NVENC, bitrate 3000, Quality, 1080 scaled to 720, 60fps, network optimization on.
Result. not running game.

After starting up the game.

Log analyzing says its a network problem but all the different speed tests (300D-12UP) seem good enough for what i want to do. not trying to do overlays or even a web cam just simple stream. My modem/router (Surfboard SBG10) is it just crap? does anyone else stream with one? Do i really have to call my ISP? I hate that and any suggestion as to what to tell them so they fix it?

Made exception in windows firewall for OBS and steam and the game.
?? why did you make local OS firewall exceptions? Assuming all running on same PC, I'm not aware of any reason for exceptions.
Have you set up something to block inter-process communication on this PC? or have an extra security product installed that is doing such?

I was just trying multiple troubleshooting options from YouTube many videos suggest this. Did you maybe have anything helpful to add?

For me, it's still not clear what exactly your issue is: "...can't stream" is not specific enough. You need to post a logfile that contains a streaming attempt, so we can see what your configuration is, what you told OBS to do, and how the streaming service answered.

In case it is a network issue, which isn't clear as long as you don't post a logfile, see this OBS troubleshooting article: https://obsproject.com/wiki/Dropped-Frames-and-General-Connection-Issues

Check the link @koala provided above for possible solutions.

OK I know about the OBS help page and have tried everything.
Still cant Live Stream.
Another test. Ran OBS Admin. Twitch stream. not recording. Wired connection and its the only device connected to router. Nothing connected to wi-fi. Nothing running in background. New Router/Modem - up to 686 Down 123 Up "smart QoS". Drivers and windows Updated. SpeedTest.net = 7ping 356.45 down 11.90 up. 60sec Twitch test on all US west servers - 10000+kbs, RTT 27-52, Quality 99-100.
OBS settings.

keeps dropping.
LOG - about 2 mins of game play live. low settings in game.

Computer - Lenovo Legion Desktop. Ryzen 7. 16gb RAM. GeForce RTX 3060. 500gb SSD. 1tb HDD
Game is on HDD. OBS is on SSD. does that matter?
can't think of anything else.

May have been a service / firewall issue, throttling your OBS outbound connection.
Unsure as to why it would have done this though without any inherent tweaking.

Good to hear it's sorted though.
