I have to have my Speaker Volume up for OBS to record Sound, why?

I think I saw someone complaining about this before, but I'm not sure if they got a solution.

I just bought a Yoga 9i, apparently the sound on these 2 in 1 systems is configured like a psychotic schizophrenic with MPD.

No matter what I do, I can't seem to record Audio from my Games, unless my speaker volume is up, which means my mic pics up the game sound and I get an echo.

On my previous system I could mute my speakers and OBS would still pick up the game sound.

I know there is a solution to this but I am not sure what it is.

Any help is appreciated, even if it is a link to a previous tutorial that I didn't quite understand.

Yeah, I've tried those settings, and been fiddling with this for a week. I can't figure it out. Maybe I'm not doing the right option, either way I definitely need some specific guidance here.

Sorry that didn't help..I'm sure someone else here can help you better than I can...

I think there are these tutorials that talk about using a 3rd party program to highjack the sound, or this Virtual Audio Cable program but I am not sure how to work with those or if they are talking about the same issue I'm having.

WOOOO!

ok I found this tutorial, it fixed the issue, but I had to download the program Voice Meeter. Another program which might work is FACE RIG.

Tutorial:

Program:

This resolves the issue by creating a NEW Audio Device.

The reason this issue exists is that these computers now only have 1 audio device. In older computers you used to have 3 audio devices instead of 1. 1 was the default mixer. Default mixer no longer really exists any more, so you have to create your own.

It would be REALLY SUPER COOL if OBS could have a DEFAULT MIXER OPTION to add to your computer in order to generate a new sound board/audio device that allows you to record things at different levels.
