I'm able to record my own voice but unable to record desktop audio. I never really needed it since i only use OBS to record for my speedpaints but im starting to branch out and need my desktop audio now and it would be a big help if anyone knows what i can do about this!

i have tried re-installing OBS multiple times and it doesnt fix anything.

Settings -> Audio, make sure you have the correct Desktop Audio Device set. Then go to the main OBS window, right click in the mixer and select "Unhide all", and lastly go to Edit -> Advanced Audio Properties and make sure all the tracks are ticked for the Desktop Audio Device.

Once all that's done, make sure that when you play audio to the speakers, the audio bar in OBS moves. If it doesn't, try this:

1) Right-click the speaker icon in the System Tray and select "Sounds".
2) In the "Playback" or "Recording" tabs, right click on the audio device(s) you want to change and select "Properties".
3) Then go to the "Advanced" tab and uncheck both checkboxes.

Then restart OBS and try again.
