Just posting this to see if anyone has any suggestions for my setup. Basically, I have reasonably high upload speed (2.1Mbit) but my router sucks and can't make use of it. It's an ISP supplied router so I asked on the forums why I couldn't stream at higher bitrate than 1000kbps. They explained that the supplied router is bad at handing multiple connections because the routing table gets filled and it's bad at handling half open connections. Or something to that effect, I really don't know.
if anyone understands that, could you recommend any specific settings in OBS that I could try? Like I said, 2.1Mbit upload available. Anything about 1000kbps gives high ping in games. I can sometimes go to 1200kbps except I get the worst ping spikes. My ping in games will spike up to 200ms for 2-3 seconds every 10 seconds, it's pretty much unbearable. Even at 1000kbps bitrate it will sometimes spike up to 120-150ms.
I have an i5 2500k, if that helps.
Thanks
