I Can't Record

1. Using Windows Update, update to Windows 10 1909 or 2004 (if available)
2. Update your GeForce drivers (if available)
3. At least one of your audio devices has a sample rate that doesn't match the rest. This can result in audio drift over time or sound distortion. Check your audio devices in Windows settings (both Playback and Recording) and ensure the Default Format (under Advanced) is consistent. 48000 Hz is recommended.
OBS Sample Rate: 48000 Hz
Microphone (MV USB AUDIO): 44100 Hz

Either change the microphone sampling rate in Windows or set the OBS sample rate to 44.1 kHz in OBS settings
4. Run OBS as admin
5. Having the YUV Color range set to "Full" will cause playback issues in certain browsers and on various video platforms. Shadows, highlights and color will look off. In OBS, go to "Settings -> Advanced" and set "YUV Color Range" back to "Partial".
6. A slower x264 preset than 'veryfast' is in use. It is recommended to leave this value on veryfast, as there are significant diminishing returns to setting it lower. It can also result in very poor gaming performance on the system if you're not using a 2 PC setup.
7. Record to FLV or MKV. If you record to MP4 or MOV and the recording is interrupted, the file will be corrupted and unrecoverable.

If you require MP4 files for some other purpose like editing, remux them afterwards by selecting File > Remux Recordings in the main OBS Studio window or enable auto remux in the advanced settings.

Post a new log after making those changes.

Q, did you even read the log?

It's a dual core CPU, asking him to go through all those steps is BS. You're just getting hopes up & wasting time...

Q means well but come on, it's a CPU that was released in Q1 2008.....

I may have been a bit harsh with my post but at least I told the OP the truth.

Yes, I read the log and the first thing I did was Google the processor. I really hate to a judge a book by it's processor, but they not be in a situation to purchase a RTX 3800 for video encoding, so make some lemonade with that lemon.

You can try not making any changes and expect a different result, but that's insane. All of those changes are free and Windows 10 1709 is no longer supported. At least update for security reasons.

Try the following recording settings:
Type: Standard
Format: mkv
Encoder: x264
Rate Control: CRF
CRF: 0
Keyframe: 0
CPU Usage: ultrafast
Profile: baseline

The file is going to be huge (because it's lossless) for the duration but you can re-encode it later using Handbrake, VLC, etc. In my test (2.9 Ghz 4 core) this used less CPU than veryfast CBR at 2.5 Mbps.

If that is using too much CPU try:
Type: Custom Output
Output Type: Output to File
Container: EDIT: matroska (Video)
Video Bitrate: 10000 Kbps (adjust as needed, this was 720p 29.97 FPS video)
Keyframe: 250
Video Encoder: mjpeg
Audio Encoder: aac

OBS used 10% cpu with that on my system
