Question / Help I can"t get a smooth stream

hello
ive tired to resolve my problem on my own but i cant seem to be getting any where.i would like any suggestions to help me with my stream.ive tried different games(dayz,bf4,metalgearrising,awesomenauts,madden08).ive tired different servers to connect to twitch.tv.ive seen my log file and used the log anazlyer and changed my setting according to the recomendtions.my stream just seems choppy to me and to my friends that have seen it.ive built my pc so i could stream and then only part that i havent upgraded is my gpu,which i wonder if it has anything to do with my stream being choppy.here are my specs

The last thing is did was use the obs log analyzer and i have zero dropped frames and a bit rate if 2500kb in the green zone. i feel that i should be able to get reach 1080p at 30 frames but im having difficulty with 720p at 60fps/30 fps and even 480p.

Make sure to create new scenes for different games/main sources and not mix everything in one scene.. For optimal performance you can also run the 64bit version of OBS and increase the fps from 30 to 48 or 50 to increase the fluidity of your stream.

Other than that post a link to a VOD where you notice this choppiness.

Thanks for the reply, Ok i checked my start button, looked under programs files and did not see my obs folder. i went into my computer and i have 2 obs folders. one in program files and the other in program files(x86) i ran the obs exe in the folder and made a short cut to my desktop. i deleted all my scenes and start from scratch. i have made 3 VODs .. the first is how i was running like since yesterday. the other with running the x86 exe . and the last running the x86 exe at 1080p 30fps. i think its an improvement . i will post OBS log .wow i just saw the log and it still says im running 32 bit. now im confused. where is the 64 bit ?

Does this happen if you output to file and view with a media player?

I never record anything to file. I just recorded to show my problem .. .. It seems smoother on the video than live streaming ... But I didn't have time to test it fully because I had to go to work ... I will test further tonight and see how choppy it is with other games.

But can you direct me to the 64 bit version of OBS .. Like I said before I ran the exe from the program file x86 folder but when I looked at my OBS log it still said 32 bit at the top ..

On a 64bit windows you can usually find 64bit programs on "program files" and 32bit programs on "program files x86".

You should also avoid uploading the file to Youtube since they'll just re-encode everything and cap it at 30fps, Try recording the file locally and then upload it to a file hosting service so we can inspect the file directly.

Log shows that 1080p was a bit more choppy for you than 720p@60fps but nothing too significant.

Ok now looks like you've also started getting frame drops because you changed the ingest to miami.. Stick to Chicago since you've had better results with that and lower the bitrate to 3000.

Battlefield 4 is one of the most hardware demanding games I would suggest you lower the in game graphics and stream at 50fps if you can't maintain a stable 60 fps on the game itself.

ok i changed my settings in BF4 to low.. it still ran like crap . if i dont stream then its above 60 on medium. i change the bit rate to 3000.. i kept the stream at 720p 60 fps but later tonight i will lower it to 50 , 48 , 30 ... here is the OBS log

I've only seen this sort of thing happen with BF4 twice before, but I have no clue why it happens. Most people run BF4 fine though.

So you saw the VOD .. When you saw it did it completly stall after I deployed for you ? I watched it from media fire as I leaving for work and my character was frozen ... But when I played it and streamed it , it was playing and recording just fine.. I have to look at the mp4 on my desktop to see if obs recorded it that way or it something to do with mediafire.. I will test different games tonight and post the VODs

Question .. Is the best my setup can do right now ... I'm upgrading my gpu next month and I'm wondering if I should just pull the trigger now .

The file on Mediafire doesn't look frozen at any point the video is choppy a bit but only because you're asking OBS to capture and encode at a constant 60fps from/using a source that can't contiguously run that minimal frame rate.. You definitely need a GPU upgrade at this point.

Hailalpro thank you for you input and advice ... I will upgrade sometime nextweek . Evga gtx 780 ti sc acx .

I will post when I get it and show you the results
