I can no longer double-boot.

I want to double-start, but I was able to do so until last week, but after a Windows update? I can't do this anymore.

I'm having the same problem on both Windows 10 and Windows 11 PCs. Is there any way to fix this?

The specific symptoms are as follows.

- One starts up without any problems, but when I start the second one, it starts up with only the preview screen. Resetting the UI returns to the normal UI, but pressing Start Streaming causes it to crash. I can't close or exit it.
- The same happens when I start it in OBS safe mode.
- The same happens when I start it with administrator privileges or in compatibility mode.

The version is 31.02, and I deleted the profile and reinstalled it, but it didn't improve.

The alert that appears when the crash occurs is as follows.
It only crashes when I press Start Streaming.

---------------------------
OBS has crashed!
---------------------------
Woops, OBS has crashed!
Would you like to copy the crash log to the clipboard? The crash log will still be saved to:
C:\Users\sysad\AppData\Roaming\obs-studio\crashes\Crash 2025-03-16 17-45-16.txt

Is there a solution?

It looks similar to this thread:

Look, OBS changed its handling of the settings in the recent updates. Some settings were moved to other locations, some new methods were used. It was planned move.
Most significant change:

All this broke undocumented ability of OBS to share settings files without interference. From now on it is expected that users will use portable mode of OBS to run multiply instances of the application. Or, at least, users could use "Source Record" and similar plugins when needed. Or you can install older version of OBS and use it as before.

More about portable mode of OBS (please, read only after the "if it was not clear words"): https://obsproject.com/forum/thread...»-when-opening-app-settings.82157/post-346499 or in the Help section in the forum: https://obsproject.com/kb/portable-mode
