I have searched for threads, videos, and tutorials but no matter what I do, I can't seem to get 1080p in my recordings. I have a i5 10400F and a GT 710. I think the problem is my gpu since it's very outdated. Is there anyway I could get HD in my recordings?
OBS Studio creates a log file each time you run it which contains very useful diagnostic information. Without a log file, it's much harder for any support volunteers to figure out problems and your post may be ignored. To upload a log file, go to the Help menu > Log Files > Upload Last Log...

You're right, but we need a log file to troubleshoot it. Look in the Help menu and upload the log file, copy the link to paste it here and take a look at the analizer so you can check common issues you may have.
Yes, your system can't manage that much.
You are using cqp 15, and that is too much. Try 20 to 23. b-frames should be 4 and keyframe interval 0.
It it still to much, use 30fps. And then lower to 720p.
You probably want ot record using simple output mode:
Unless you need more than 1 audio channel. In that case:
Do not use (untick) look-ahead and psyco visual tuning.
From the analizer, you may want to follow it's recommendations:
OBS (Open Broadcaster Software) is free and open source software for video recording and live streaming. Stream to Twitch, YouTube and many other providers or record your own videos with high quality H264 / AAC encoding.

File container should be mkv, just in case the recording crash, so you don't lose what was recorded at that moment. You can remux it into mp4 after (file menu). And to be really sure, do not delete the mkv file until you are fine with the remux results.
Ok, so basically what you're saying is that my pc can't handle recording in HD, right? I also was recording in cqp 20? I did change everything else, and you didn't mention whether I should change my output and input res to 720p. Should I do that?
If doing the other changes didn't help, then yes, go for output resolution to 720p, 30 fps.
I used to have an i5 3570 with an nVidia 1050ti and I can only stream at 720p 30fps. I guess recording I could go for 1080p, but never 60fps.
Now I have a Rizen 5 5600x and a nVidia 1650 Super. Can stream most games at 1080p 60fps but I play with the kbps, between 5500 an 6000.
