I am trying to transfer my high 8 tapes into digital format. I want to use my USB D: as my input but have been unable to accomplish it. I am a first time user of this program and as you can tell. I am lost!

Be aware that you will need a capture device.
Some cameras have a USB port, but it usually is NOT for transferring video playback, instead only for transferring video files like a thumbdrive, charging, or in some cases allowing computer control of the camera.
