I'm not sure if this is a known issue (or just common sense), but disabling hyper-v in Windows 8.1 seems to cause significant performance issues when using OBS. Oddly enough, this wasn't a problem with Shadowplay. Anyway, everything was A-OK after re-enabling it. Just figured I'd pass this along.
