Windows 10
i5 4690k
GTX 970
8gig (I know this is low)
So. I have streamed and recorded a handful of times without any issue. Mostly short sessions running around 30-1hr just trying to get audio levels right, see how the stream looked, etc. Had good results. Some quality drop on the viewers end, but that was likely due to my crap-at-the-time internet. I put OBS aside and decided to wait on my new internet before streaming. Get my new internet (300megabit/s Down, 30megabit/s Up), load up OBS with the exact same settings as I have always used, hit record (or stream, either/or causes the issue) and load up the game Im playing (In this case, Killer Instinct) only to be met with MASSIVE in-game lag. Trying to play is like a slow-motion slide show with huge stutters. Its obviously totally unplayable in any way. I closed KI and started tinkering with settings in OBS, nothing I can figure out is having any effect. With KI closed, and just navigating my desktop and opening windows and such I am seeing a stutter and slowdown.
Really at a loss here. I tried using another big name broadcast software - same results.. But when I load up Nvidia Shadowplay - no problem. I can stream and record just fine. I dont want to use SP though, as OBS offers WAY more.
Im not sitting on a powerhouse of a system or anything, but I should have more than enough to stream what Im trying to stream... Especially since I have, in fact, successfully streamed with OBS in the past and *nothing* to my knowledge has changed. I mean, obviously something has, but whatever it is, its not an obvious change - because I cant figure it out.
Thanks guys.
