HP Laptop cam added as device but no image appears?

New Member
Running an HP Laptop 422HVT42 with built in webcam.
8GB RAM
8GM Physical Memory
9GB Virtual Memory
HP TruVision HD Camera

I've read a few threads suggesting changing resolution to "Custom" and then selecting one.
I still can't get an image to popup when I hit OK.
Any feedabck would be greatly appreciated.....
