Question / Help How well can this CPU stream?

Hello, I'll be buying this CPU in the next few days and I'm curious as to how well it can stream.
AMD Phenom II; 3.4GHz, quad core.

Can it stream 720p @ 30fps? 720p @ 60fps? 1080 @ 30?
How much CPU usage would each setting consume, if you have experience with that.

Not very well, it can probably do 720p 25 / 30. Depends a lot on what game you stream and how much CPU it also needs. AMD CPUs are unfortunately not very powerful these days.

idk about that..im running an amd phenom 2 also, 6 core and can easily stream at 1080p 30fps with any game...i usually stream at 720p 60fps though.

No, even 720P will not work most of the time, 1080 is a nogo. Seems like you have the 955.

@bart don't compare the 1090T with the 955 BE. The 2 extra cores do the magic here.

that cpu is around 30% less powerful than a 2500k when it comes to 1 pass x264 encoding. can't really be streaming decent games at 720p without a significant overclock.

What motherboard do you have? If you have a AM3+ socket you could get a AMD 8320 or a 8350 CPU and have a pretty good streaming rig.

I use this CPU and Overclocked it to 3.8GHz. It can easily stream @ 1280x720 with 30FPS, and even on 60FPS you still get a good return of around 30/40 FPS to play with. I would easily think non-overclocked you could do 1280x720 @ 30FPS with ease.

3.8GHz @ 6 cores. I'm curious if it can handle 1080p @ 30, or even 60fps (probably not?).

The processor itself will be able to handle 1080p at 30 frames per second just fine, but as usual it will depend on how much CPU the game you're streaming uses as well. I can't reliably do 1080p at 60 frames per second on my processor, which performs comparably to the 6200, so that might not be doable.

FWIW - I stream 1440x900 @ 30fps using an old Q9550 with no problems at all.
(Caveat - although I do overlay my webcam, I am streaming Company of Heroes - an old RTS that is not overly demanding on CPU. I have yet to try it with a FPS like COD or Borderlands2).

Im streaming Dota2 at 800p @30fps with a Phenom 2 X3 720 @ 4 Cores no clocking.

Dont get all the hate for the poor phenoms :<
