How to use multiple cameras from single Logitech Capture source.

Hello OBS folks, I'm sorry if this is a noob question but my Google Fu failed me and I couldn't seem to piece together a workaround.

The setup my company is currently using for video production is 2 x Logitech C922 webcams. Using OBS as normal, both can be added via add Video Capture Device just fine, but the video config settings are reset every day. To work around this, I found a guide suggesting the use of Logitech Capture to set up profiles which will allow the video configurations to remain fixed even after reboots.

Unfortunately, Logitech Capture only appears as a single feed in Video Capture devices. The LC software sees both cameras, treats them as separate sources and can adjust their settings independently, but appears to only send 1 virtual camera signal to OBS as an input, ignoring if it's one camera or the other or even both in PiP mode. Is there a way to add multiple feeds? Or perhaps a trick to get 2 instances of LC running at once?

So I've read/watched that before I posted the question and it doesn't actually answer my question at all. I can use multiple camera in Logitech Capture, but can't send them as multiple, independent sources to OBS. Specifically, that guide deals with drivers for C920's and we have C922s which are specifically mentioned to not need any driver adjustments.

Don't use Log capture.
Just add the cameras one at a time in sources.
I run three of them and have no problem..Each one can be controlled separately in OBS.

Using log capture is the only way that the settings aren't wiped each session from OBS. When editing the camera settings via "Configure Video" in OBS, settings such as white balance and contrast revert, using Log Capture was an effort to circumvent that by saving them as a profile so that they always keep the same settings regardless of session. I was led to believe that Log Capture supported multiple video streams out, but I think it was a misnomer by way of it supporting multiple camera in Log Capture itself, but only one video out stream, combining the sources.

Well, I don't stream with capture..
But, even using them in separate sources you lose the settings and they go go to default when you start up.
I adjust one of mine almost every day but it doesn't bother me that much...

Unfortunately this is a long-standing and well-known problem with Logitech cameras. Some of them 'forget' settings (sometimes on reboot, sometimes on each initialization of the camera) rather than retaining an internal config properly, and identical model cameras cannot be differentiated to adjust their settings while both are connected.

This is not something OBS can fix, this is a hardware/firmware level issue that Logitech needs to address, and has not done so for years.
The only workaround is to either unplug each camera one at a time (if you are fortunate and the settings persist after an unplug/replug), or to use two different models of camera. Neither of which will cause settings to persist if they are 'forgotten', remaining a PITA every time.

As far as LC goes, you will need to contact Logitech for support. OBS does not make that software, and we do not offer support for it here.

Got it. I figured it was something like that, but wasn't sure if the OBS community was aware of a script or customization that might have been implemented to shore up a problem with other software, something akin to VirtualCam for OBS to send to Zoom. It doesn't bother me personally to configure the cameras each time, but I'm having to set this up for our super non-technical Marketing dept, who is attempting to make video content without a videographer and I'm the nearest thing since apparently anything that plugs into the wall = IT Dept.

That sucks though that Logitech has such a huge market share on low-medium quality cameras but retains such a long standing issue that isn't resolved. Though, I suppose noting that they don't make their own drivers and just use the standard UVC ones going forward they may consider it out of their hands. Who knows though.

Thanks for all of your suggestions everyone, sorry to hear it's functionally impossible given the constraints.

Hopping back here as I found this thread through my own googling as well. It seems that Capture now supports pre-saved settings for two unique sources, so if your stream setup is ONLY using two cameras, this works well. If you're using more than two of the same, though, you're still out of luck. I personally use three, and set the two primary ones up in Capture, and manually manage the third, smaller cam manually every stream.
