Hi!

I've been using OBS for over half a year to record videos for YouTube and to stream. I adore it and it's never given me any problems.

Until now. After I installed the most recent update, OBS automatically adjusts my Windows microphone level to 100 whenever I start recording/streaming. I would obviously like for it not to do this. How do I get it to stop? I have unchecked the "allow applications to take exclusive control" button in the microphone settings and OBS still does it.

(Note: I have 100% confirmed that it is OBS that's doing this, so "maybe it's something else on your computer?" is unfortunately not going to be the answer here.)

Thank you for any assistance you may offer!

OBS does not adjust the volume of any audio devices, so despite what you may think, this is caused by some other software, perhaps your sound drivers.

Okay. The microphone volume gets adjusted after I hit the "start recording" button. Even if it's not OBS's fault that this happens, does anyone know what can be done to stop it from happening?

If OBS is not supposed to adjust the microphone volume, then should I post this in the bug forum?

I've discovered that this is actually either a driver or windows issue. On my system, what will happen is when the microphone capture becomes active, it will lower volume of actively playing things on my windows mixer. This is definitely not OBS' fault, but rather a symptom of a windows or driver issue of some sort. I haven't been able to pinpoint what specifically is the cause though, it's just my best guess at this point in time.

edit: ..Wait, unless you're meaning a different issue. I just re-read again. If you want to confirm, download older versions on our download page.
