How to start and stop recording without showing the OBS application window in the video?

Hi, I set up shortcut keys (Control+Z and Control+X) to start and stop recording respectively. Then I minimized the OBS application window. Pressing the Control+Z did not start the recording. I had to open the OBS application window and clicked "Start Recording" to start the recording. This creates a problem as the saved video also shows the OBS application window. How do I start and stop screen recording without having the OBS application window shown in the resulting video?

Ctrl Z is used to undo. Ctrl X to cut.
Use a different combination like Ctrl F8 or Crtl F9. You can use the same one for both actions.

OK. I used different key combinations. It works if I have OBS shown on my screen as an active window. However, if I minimize the OBS application window, the shortcut keys don't work. How to use shortcut keys to start/stop the recording while having the OBS application window minimized or not shown on the screen?

Settings -> Advanced -> Hotkeys -> Hotkeys Focus Behavior -> Never disable hotkeys

Running as admin has its own trade-offs and potential security issues... no not my go-to recommendation
glad it is working for original poster
for others that are looking for similar
- Personally, I run dual-monitor and always have OBS app window visible... but I recognize that use cases will vary
- For me, as there is always lots going on in my use case, I tried ot automate as much as possible.. so I installed https://obsproject.com/forum/threads/advanced-scene-switcher.48264/ years ago, and for me I use a Schedule to start Recording, but a timed Sequence (which I use for my fade to black closeout/end stream) or similar would work just as well..
- another common solution is to use something like a StreamDeck (USB attached device with buttons mapped to specific actions... effectively hotkeys without using the keyboard)

Better still, Go to Settings => select Hotkeys => Enter the keys you prefer for each function => Click on Apply and then OK. Find Screenshots below:

Step 1: Go to Settings under Controls
