Question / Help How to show video

Hello guys!

Since I'm casting for an organisation who told me to show an ad of logitech, a .mp4-file, I was wondering if their was a smooth option to implement into my stream.
I was thinking of something like a scene and when selected it plays the video.
At the moment I'm using the Software Capture and select my .vlc player, but im not quite comfortable with this option, cause it needs one full monitor of mine.

If you have a suggestion to my problem, I'd be glad!

We may have it sooner than later. There's a plugin in development for video file sources.

For now I guess I'll just have to cheese it until it arrives.

I'm also interested in progress on this feature. Actually I was hoping I could just build a VLC playlist of videos and have that run, but OBS loses track of the VLC source (keeps audio, but black screen) if I switch to a different scene.
