Question / Help How to set up Minecraft

I'm sorta new to OBS and am wondering how to capture Minecraft. I can capture other games just fine, like Super Crate Box ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p8XEmFpJ7JU ) but cannot get Minecraft to work. When I record, I either get a black recording or a "unreadable codec". Help?

This is the wrong place to ask this question. This forum is for posting guides, not asking for guides.

What have you tried so far? How are you capturing it?

Do note that you have to be in-game before game capture works on Minecraft.

Well, where should it be then? As an aside note, I got it to work later. However, where should I ask how to record a specific game? I'm currently having difficulties recording Super Crate Box in fullscreen mode.

I've had to use Screen Capture mode for Super Crate Box, and run it in windowed mode (with a screen sub-region mask, and Aero off). Game Capture doesn't see it (blackscreen), and Window Capture doesn't list it. If you can live with playing in windowed mode, it looks just as good in-stream as fullscreened.

Annoyingly, it also re-centers itself onscreen in windowed mode when you actually start a level; so you can't move it around to make room on one side for chat or something without having it snap back (and be cut off badly). But that's a problem to take up with the SCB devs, not OBS. :)
