Bug Report How to reinstal OBS and keep all my scenes and edits within the new install?

Yesterday instaled CLR host plugin and my OBS studio started to freeze.
First, my desktop shortcut said that obsapi.dll was missing.
Then, obs started to frezze when trying to stop recordings... im afraid I have to uninstall it and install it again.

I have 4 webcams and like 20 scenes, automatic camera switches, etc... that I dont want to loose with the uninstall.
What files / folders should not be deleted in order to have all my profiles and scenes, and how to make this available once the new obs installation were ready?
Thanks!

Ive attached one of the logs if you want to see it

do you know where and what file to open to have all my settings and scene back once new installation is done?

just install to the same directory and it should keep have all the scenes and settings back.

by default it is C:\Program Files (x86)\obs-studio

to open the file is C:\Program Files (x86)\obs-studio\bin\64bit\obs64.exe

if you use 32 bit then just change the 64s to 32s

So, I just have to install the new OBS OVER the previous one? I mean, not doing the uninstall process first?

Ive read an old post saying that the profile and scenes saves on a %APPDATA% folder...
https://obsproject.com/forum/threads/fresh-re-install-but-save-scenes-etc.8326/

This morning I tried but I cant find it, so I saw a tutorials that show that Hidden appdata folder must be checked.. and when I did that, I screwed my pc, dont know why... after 2 hours of working I could go back and fix what I broke... luckly, before screwed up all Ive saved the BASICS folder in which OBS profile and scenes are...but I really dont want to play or screw nothing else in windows... is this appdata folder the only way for doing this, or is just, as you said, installing a fresh OBS version over the old one?

Thanks

that could work but i found the folder.

Copy and paste this into your file explorer: C:\Users\C-Dude\AppData\Roaming\obs-studio\basic

Backup that folder then you can reinstall and put it back in the same place and you should be fine.

Yes, thats exactly the route and folders that Ive made the backup.
Unfortunately, after reinstalling OBS my crashes continues... mostly, when I try to close OBS, it freezes...
I think I should upload a crash log to see if someone can help me...

Running the setup again, will not remove any settings/scenes/sources. So you can just download the setup of a newer version and run it.

Its exactly what I did, but obs keep crashing.
Ive just upload my crash log to the forum
thanks Osiris!

for your information, I uninstalled OBS from drive E and freshly installed new version to Drive C. Every Scene is still there and nothing changed yet. When Uninstalling DONT mark the User settings. This will leave all obs settings and scenes in %appdata%/obs-studio/basic/scenes

Just be shure to reinstall all plug-ins correctly
