Question / Help How to record software audio?

Hello,

I'm trying to record an FL Studio tutorial for my friend, but I'm running into some issues.

Setup:
  • I have a Steinberg UR22mkII audio interface connected to my laptop. 'Desktop audio' in OBS is set to the UR22's output.
  • I'm recording myself with my webcam and a microphone (that's also connected to the UR22).
  • I'm recording my screen.

Issues:
  • Audio from my microphone does record, but only to the left channel (I have enabled multiple channels).
  • Audio from FL Studio doesn't record at all through 'desktop audio'. Files I play with VLC are being recorded, however.
So it seems FL Studio's output isn't routed to desktop audio.

How do I fix the stereo issue and how do I record FL Studio's output?

Thanks,

Your mic is mono, it will only be coming from your interface on one channel. If you open OBS' mixer by clicking the cog next to the word "Mixer", there are panning controls in there.

I don't think OBS will capture audio if you're using ASIO to output from FL Studio, try using WASAPI instead.
