How to record online lecture in obs in high quality but small file size?

Set your color mode to 444 instead of RGB or NV12, and make sure you set it to use Quicksync encoder. Your screen resolution is really low so if possible, get an external monitor with 1920x1080 resolution

Reduce FPS to 30 or even 15 instead of 60

And use these encoder settings:

You can experiment with the QPI QPP QPB values... lower numbers give better quality but bigger file zies

High quality and small file size for video tend to be mutually exclusive. You need to pick one.

Thank you for the help!! I will just get a second monitor for better quality when recording.

Quality and small file size are opposite but you can optimize your recording for your source.... I've found that mostly static things like presentations or government meetings are really easy to record with good quality and low bitrate, if you use ConstQP and the right QP value... roughly 25
